Business Records Index Computer

Screen A is the main menu screen for the business records index system found in Kings, Queens and Richmond counties. New York County and Bronx county do not have this system as this edition went to press.

This computer indexes all new businesses, partnerships and corporations registered in each of these counties. The computer is very simple to use. If any information is in the name search field, press the ³PF6" key to clear the field and enter the search name. Just below this field on the computer is four different boxes with directions to do four different type searches on the name entered. It is suggested to do a "PF4" search because this function will search corporate, business, and peddler records.

Screen B will appear with any records with the name entered. The computer will list the name, address, file number, date of filing and type of document. In order to view a copy of the document, write down the file number and request a copy from the clerk. The computer will also display any other records that have similarly spelled names (i.e. REYN, REYNolds). Press the up and down arrow keys (controlled by a mouse) to view any remarks and additional information about the company.
