New York County Civil Court Index Computer

Screen A is the main menu screen for the New York County Civil Court Index Computer. This computer tracts all non landlord-tenant civil court cases in New York County. It is located at 111 Centre Street, room 118.

To get to the enter screen to start a name search, press the "BLUE SELECT KEY" and screen B will appear.

Enter the last name or business/corporate name on the line shown in screen B and press the "RETURN" key twice. The computer will do a plaintiff and defendant search.

Screen C lists ten names starting with the name entered on Screen B. The computer lists individuals and business names and plaintiffs and defendants on the same screen. The index number and year are listed. You use the index number and year to get a copy of the file from the requisition desk. Use the up and down arrow keys to highlight a case to access more information. Then press the FIND KEY to get a full listing on the case (i.e. plaintiff defendant, type of action, filing date). Press the return key once to get to the previous screen and press it twice to get to the main menu.
