Suffolk County Land Records Computer

Screen A is the main menu screen to search land records in Suffolk County. Select one option in Screen A. The user can only search one book (grantor, grantee, mortgagor, mortgagee, numeric) at a time. All of these options work the exact same way. This tutorial will demonstrate a grantor and a numeric search.

In Screen A , an "X" was placed in the space for a grantor search. Tab the cursor down to the "XMIT" space and press the "XMIT" key. Screen B will appear.

Screen B will show an individual name search (grantor is chosen here). The name "Frank Smith" has been entered on the line without a middle initial or suffix. A corporate or business name may also be entered on line 3. Tab the cursor down to "XMIT" space and press the transmit key. Screen C will appear.

Screen C shows the detailed information for the name "Frank Smith" under a grantor search. Each screen will only display one record. To view the next record in this search, press "XMIT". To return to the main menu, enter a "C" on the first line and hit "XMIT". The screen displays important information about the document. To view the document or get a copy, go to the print station and select the deed cartridge 11618 (the "liber") and scroll to page 88.

Note the Section block and lot information. These numbers will be very handy in Screen D.

Screen D is a numeric search. Once you have identified a piece of property and you want to see if any more records are filed against it, just check the numeric inquiry function. This function will list all the documents filed against a particular district, section, block and lot. It is important to note what dates the computer is current through and what dates are on the cartridge. This function is available with the cartridge for land information in the print station.

Enter the information above, being very careful with complete numbers and decimal points. Place the cursor in the "XMIT" space and hit "XMIT" key. Screen E will appear listing all the land records associated with the entered district, section, block and lot. "XMIT" from the space provided to get back to Screen A.
